Borobudur Temple



Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple in Indonesia, it is also the second largest Buddhist temple in the world after Ankor Wat temple in Cambodia. The temple is also listed as one of the seven wonders of the world. The temple is located on the island of Java, precisely in Magelang, Central Java. According to sources I get, building the magnificent Borobudur temple designed by architect named Gunadharma. But there is no record of the history of this great architect. According to the myths that circulate temple was built with the help of magical creatures. Currently, the temple has become one of the must-visit tourist spot for both local and foreign tourists.

Mendut Temple


Mendut is not as big and grand as Borobudur temple , but older than Borobudur temple. In addition, Mendut also considered auspicious by some people. The temple is also located in Magelang, Central Java. This temple can be encountered when entering the Borobudur temple. Because it is near the location of the second temple. The temple is often visited by couples who have not been blessed with offspring, because there are Hariti releief which was then known as the Goddess of Fertility. Prambanan Temple



Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple in Southeast Asia. The temple is located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Central Java. The temple is also often referred to as the Roro Jonggrang Temple and often referred to as a thousand temples. Called as such because the temple has a legend. A long ago there was a young man who was very powerful and the powerful who want to marry a beautiful princess named Roro Jonggrang. Bondowoso very disappointed with the Roro Jonggrang, then transform her into rock, wich now known as Prambanan temple, while the temple in the vicinity called the Thousand Sewu or temple. Because of the beauty and complexity of the architecture, Prambanan recorded as World Heritage Site in 1991 by UNESCO. The temple is also the most popular tourist destination for local and foreign tourists when visiting Yogyakarta.

Gunung Kawi Temple



Gunung Kawi Temple is a Hindu temple located in Bali. Who is not familiar with Bali, a tourist town full of natural beauty. The town is even more famous than his own country. Temple Mount is one of the many attractions that are in Bali. The temple is located in the Tampaksiring, Gianyar, Bali. According to the story Gunung Kawi temple complex are made available for funeral king Udayana and his children. Muara Takus Temple



Muara Takus Temple is the only temple located in Riau, Sumatra. This temple is a Buddhist temple. The architecture of the stupa is very unique because it is not found anywhere else in Indonesia. The form of this temple has similarities with the Buddhist stupa in Myanmar stupa in Vietnam, Sri Lanka or the stupa of ancient India during the period of Ashoka, the stupa has a wheel and ornaments lion head, similar to the statues found in the Muara Takus Temple area. The temple was once nominated as one of the UNESCO world heritage in 2009.
